Gr3en Energy Drink

Overall Rating: 4 Stars

About Gr3en:

“GR3EN is Pure. Organic. Power. Our philosophy is simple: supercharge with superfoods. Powered by green tea, coconut water, and kale, GR3EN gives a clean energy boost you can feel. It’s the perfect pick-me-up when you first wake up, need a lift, hit the gym, or hit the wall at work.

GR3EN has the caffeine equivalent of a cup of coffee, but combines the health benefits of coconut water, green tea and kale juice in one can.

GREEN TEA

The original caffeinated beverage. Traditional Chinese medicine links green tea to many health benefits. It’s been used to boost energy and focus, rev up metabolism, relieve headaches, and much more.

COCONUT WATER

A healthy, natural source of hydration that’s been popular in the tropics for centuries. Loaded with micronutrients, enzymes, and essential electrolytes, the water of young green coconuts is often referred to as nature’s ultimate sports drink.

KALE (KING OF GREENS)

Kale may seem like a hot new trend, but it actually dates back to the Middle Ages in Europe. It’s a powerful antioxidant loaded with too much good stuff to list. Just GOOGLE kale and see what you come up with…the hype is real.

CARBONATED KALE?

We’ll be honest, people don’t know what to expect when we say “carbonated kale”. But, they are pleasantly surprised when they take a sip. GR3EN is a refreshing lightly carbonated organic beverage that infuses coconut water and green tea with kale so your taste buds aren’t overpowered by the flavor of kale. We did many taste tests to get GR3EN just right.

My Thoughts:

In the world of energy drinks, these are pretty much the bomb-diggity. I say this because they have a very clean ingredient list, they’re certified organic and they utilize healthy superfoods like green tea, coconut water and kale. They’re not full of toxic junk, rather they actually pack a nutrient punch along with the (naturally occurring) caffeine content.

I found these Gr3en drinks to have an interesting and enjoyable flavor. They are like a zippy, zesty soda with a coconutty, green twist. The flavor actually really works!

My little issues with the drinks are that they list “natural flavors” (what’s that?) and they contain about 15g of sugar per drink. This is handy if I am mid-marathon and need quick fuel via sugar. However, on a day to day basis, I aim to limit sugar. Thus, these drinks would not be my go-to. I would rather reach for a low-in-sugar green juice.

To sum up my thoughts: these Gr3en energy drinks are an excellent upgrade and alternative to traditional energy drinks–there’s truly no comparison. So, if you’re looking for a quick boost or electrolyte replenishment, I’d say give these drinks a go!
